Pink isn't only for Wednesdays anymore [FB 2]

Pink's coming back and it's not just for Wednesdays. The revival of the Pink coat is making another splash into the S/S '16 season. It was first featured for the A/W '14 season even making some appearances on the S/S '14 runways. I'm confident that this time around it will actually reach the culmination stages due to the trickle down theory.

This time the coats will make their come back in lighter weight materials so that it isn't too heavy as we transition into the warmer climate. The coats colors will resemble the hues of bubblegum and cotton candy. Overall this "Peached Pink" color is going to be a trending color for the spring of 2016. Trendstop predicts this being the key shade for the season.

Right now, collecting dust in my closet, is one lonely pink biker jacket that's hung up all the way at the end of my closet. I've maybe wore this about once or twice. Next spring gives me hope that I'll be seeing it again!

  1. Britteny- I love this trend, pastels are one of my favorite palettes not to mention I confess that depending on my mood I am totally in love with pink! I find it funny you have a pink biker jacket because I too have a baby pink biker jacket that I have tried time and time again to wear but have never justified the right outfit! Its my goal to wear it this season! One of my favorite blogs Who What Wear had a great post on colored leather jackets!

They also have a few neat posts about different pink jackets referring to celeb and street style!

  2. Brittney & Barrett- Hey girls! I also have a pink biker jacket, which I have been trying to style since I got it. Both your comments have reassured me that it is almost time for its debut. I love that you mentioned Easter, Brittney, I definitely agree that the pastel palettes will thrive during March and April this year. I also thought your heading was clever. When I saw your post I immediately thought of the "motion" trend covered by Doneger.

  3. Coats are such an important staple in the spring. Even though they are worn for the purpose of warmth, they can really complete an outfit, especially in a cute color like pink. You don’t have to be a girly girl to wear a pink coat either. A light pink hue is feminine enough, but not too dramatic. I fell in love with the pink coat trend back in the fall when I saw one at my internship. I’m glad the fashion forecastors predict that this trend will last. Check out the link below to see the jacket I liked.

  4. I think that the pink jacket will become a statement piece that everyone will want to have in their wardrobe. I like how you specified that not only is the pink jacket trending, but specifically a peached pink jacket look will be in style. I think that it is interesting that it is a jacket that will be taking off during the spring season, usually it gets warmer during the season and therefore the consumer may not be able to wear their pink jacket as much as they want. Although the pink jacket is predicted to be the key item for Spring, maybe it will be popular enough to stick around for other seasons, such as fall. I personally would love for the trend to last a while because I just adore how the idea of having a pink jacket.

  5. I absolutely adore the pink coat trend! I'm so happy to see pastels and brights become increasingly popular in the upcoming S/S '16 season! That, with the addition of interesting textures, should make for some really gorgeous coats!

  6. I really love those pink coats! Those colors really make me think of the spring just looking at them. I love how the color pink is not extremely bright and fancy. The shades of the peached pink would really make beautiful colors. I think seeing people in the street with those colors would really give happy feeling! Love it!
